چکیده
Assess the relationship and diagnostic performance of retinol-binding protein 4 (RBP-4) as a biomarker ofdiabetic nephropathy (DN) at different levels albuminuria (normo-, micro- macro-albuminuria). Acase-control study, that involved 185 participants, 47 were healthy control, 138 diabetic patients (46were normoalbuminuric [NA], 48 microalbuminuria [MiA], 44 weremacroalbuminuria [MaA]). All treated with antidiabetic medication (metformin and/or oral sulfonylureas), all participants interviewed by researcher, full medical (history ofliver, kidney, lung, other diseases), sociodemographic data taken from them recorded in thequestionnaire. In present RBP-4 was 14.08±1.82 ng/ml control group, 15.98±3.74 ng/mlin normoalbuminuria (NA) 30.38±6.02 micro-albuminuria (MiA), 41.01±5.78ng/ml for macro-albuminuria (MaA), there significant difference between their groups comparedto (p-value <0.001), each <0.001) except no differencefound normoalbuminuria. conclusion, RBP4 is an excellent predictor bothmicroalbuminuria microalbuminuria, inverse GFR, whichindicate it good progression kidney impairment.

Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is one of the most serious microvascular complications of diabetes. The study aims to evaluate the diagnostic value of serum neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) and retinol-binding protein 4 (RBP4) as biomarkers for early detection of nephropathy in type 2 diabetic patients. The current study was performed on 150 type 2 diabetic patients. These patients w...
